1. A general term used to describe the process of extracting elements from tea, herbs, berries or fruits by submersion in boiling water.

2. An expression that refers to the solid tea leaf that remains after the liquor is decanted. The form and colour of the infusion can reveal a lot of information regarding the manufacturing conditions of the tea.
