Aroma

A general term that refers to the characteristic fragrance of the tea leaf and the brewed tea, imparted by its essential oils. This fragrance is closely linked to flavour. Tea contains approximately 300 components, many of which have desirable aromas. A complex aroma is often described as a bouquet.
